Christ Church Episcopal Preschool educates young children, creates community among school, families, and church, and honors and nurtures children in the Episcopal tradition. We welcome children aged two to five in small classes where all are affirmed as children of God and are inspired and encouraged to become their best selves—socially, emotionally, academically and spiritually.

Stewards of Children

Steve Friedemann

Stewards of Children, a prevention training program that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse, will be offered at Christ Church twice on January 20.  The morning session is 9:00 – 11:30 and the afternoon session is 1:30-4:00.  Many of our parents took this training last year and, although it is a sobering topic, they felt it was essential training for all parents. See more at: Stewards of Children.  Our teachers have all had this training and we highly recommend it as well.

Spiritual Practices and Rituals in the Home

Steve Friedemann

January 15

7:00pm to 8:30pm

Rector, Ruth Kirk, will speak to parents about Spiritual Practices and Rituals in the Home.  This is the second event in our Parenting and Faith speaker series.  Those who attended the Rev. Louise Howlett’s talk last fall enjoyed the opportunity to discuss parenting issues with Louise and with other parents.  This session promises to provide those opportunities as well, plus the gift of Ruth’s wisdom and guidance in this important topic: providing spiritual nurture for your family and doing so with joy.  Please RSVP to Denise if you plan to attend:  RSVP

Parenting & Faith Discussion

Steve Friedemann

Please join us for the first of three speakers in our Parenting & Faith program.  The Rev. Louise Howlett, priest and family therapist, will have a discussion with parents on November 4th at 7:00 p.m.  Read more about her topic below:

Supporting children through life's ups and downs

We love our children and want to protect them. Nevertheless, life has hardships: headlines are scary, families argue, pets die, grandparents get sick, friends move away. How can we respond to life's ups and downs faithfully and help our children be resilient, hopeful, and thankful, no matter what life brings?

Other topics this year will include spiritual rituals and practices in the home with our Rector, The Rev. Ruth Kirk, and praying with your children with the Rev. Russ Bohner.
