Thanksgiving Baskets Project
Donations for Thanksgiving baskets- Please leave your donation in the designated box outside of your
child’s classroom by Friday, November 15. ONLY the following items are needed (NO glass): canned
corn, canned peas, canned green beans, canned yams, canned cranberry sauce, stuffing mix, instant
potato flakes, packaged gravy, and dessert mix.
Don’t Be a Chicken! Sponsor a Turkey!
For $15 (or more!), you can sponsor a turkey for one of the families receiving a basket through this
project. Please leave cash or check (made payable to Christ Church; write “turkey” in memo) with Denise
Harris in the preschool office.
Interfaith Potluck Supper on Sunday, November 17 from 4:30 to 6:30pm at Congregation Beth
Emeth, 300 W. Lea Blvd, Wilmington
Christ Church, Congregation Beth Emeth, and Mt. Lebanon Methodist Church join forces to help those in
need. Come to a family event where kids can help assemble the Thanksgiving baskets, followed by a
potluck supper. Please bring enough to share: main dish, salad, side dish, or dessert. Out of respect for
the dietary guidelines of our partners, potluck dishes should not contain shellfish, pork products, or
combine dairy products with meat.
Food Drive for the Food Bank of Delaware
Donations for the Food Bank- Bring all kinds of canned and boxed foods and leave in the designated box outside of your child’s classroom by Monday, November 25.
A Blessing of Our Donations - The children bring all the accumulated food in wheelbarrows, shopping
carts, and by hand to the chapel for a blessing by Ruth on Tuesday, November 26 at 11:00am. Parents
Volunteers Wanted to help deliver our donations to the Food Bank of Delaware. Contact Laura McGinley
